My diary Critical Reading "Reflection"

The critical reading class  with  Dj.Usaa Noytim. When  I  learned  on  this  subject, I  feel  happy  because  teacher  be  kind. She  explained  about  this  lesson  to  very  well  and  easy  to  understand. She  gave  us  worksheet  every  lesson, it  has  very   important  and  interesting. Teacher  was   punctual  and  the student  must  be  punctual. I  think  is  a  very  good  thing  to  be  a  teacher  in  the  future. Sometimes  worksheet  difficult  for  me  but  teacher  carefully  explained, it  makes  me  understand  more. So  I  have been  learning  this  subject  for  15 weeks. I  learned  a lot  of  lesson  for  example, I  learn  introduction  to  critical  reading, the  difference   between  fact  and  opinion, identifying  the  main  idea, movie  review, book  review, reading  advertisement, reading  editorials, and  reading  news  articles.  I  think  this  lessons  in  this  class  can be  used  to  useful  in  the  learning  in  the  future.  I  want  to  say  thank  you  to  Dj. Usa Noytim  for  teaching  about  the  critical  reading  for  me  and  my  friend. In  the  future  I  hope  to  learn  with  Dr.Usa  Noytim   again  because  I  like  her  teaching  techniques. I  enjoyed  and  be  happy  in  this  class.

Today  is  23  September  2013. I  had  a  critical  reading  with  Dr. Usa  Noytim.  At  first, I  learned  about  reading  news  articles. Teacher   asked  us  to  share  ideas  about  Facebook  to  share  your info  for  money  on  the  white  board.  This  articles  was  difficult  to  translate  because  it  has  many  new  word. Teacher  asked  us  to  answer  questions  about  facebook.

It  was  answer  question  in  my  opinion.

1.How many users does facebook have?

Facebook   has  400 million  users.

2. With what websites has Facebook recently begun sharing users’ personal profile information?

 Facebook  has begun sharing  information  with  Pandora  and  Yelp.

3. What other changes has Facebook recently made to the website?

Facebook announced new features designed to unlock more of the data accumulated. Facebook made it so that they could sell information about a user even if that information was thought to be private by the user.

4. Even if you block information shared from your site, how could your personal information still be made public?

Information  could still  be  shared  from  a  friend's  account.

5. Do you think Facebook should automatically share your info, and only refrain from doing so if you know about it and go into your settings to opt out? Explain your answer .

I  think  that  facebook  should  not  automatically  share  information and  I  think that the  users  should  be able  to  choose  what  you share  and  not share. The  users  had  control  over  what  information they  wished  to  share  publicly  and  what  information  they  wanted  to  keep private.

6. This article states “Facebook wants to make money by selling user information.” Do you think that is their motive for sharing your info, or is it as Facebook stated, to assist users by "promot[ing] social activity" by sharing your info? Explain your answer.

I  think  “Facebook wants to make money by selling user information”  this  article  states  was  true  because  facebook  is  automatically  sharing  that  information, without your consent  and  it  want  to make  money  by  selling  user  information.

I  think  this  lesson  was  important  and  interesting . I enjoyed  this  class.

Today  is  19  September  2013. I  had  a  critical  reading  with  Dr. Usa  Noytim.  At  first, I  learned  about  reading  editorials  in  work  sheet. I  read  news  in  worksheet, the  new  was  about  the  44  hurt  after  light  rail  cars  collide in  San Francisco. Teacher  asked  us  to  find  about  What, Where, Who, Why, and  Result  on  worksheet. I  think  this  exercise  was  difficult. Next  Teacher   gave  us  new  sheet  about  readind  news  articles.  I  brainstorming   with  friends  and  wrote  on  the  white  board  about  Facebook .  I  think  this  lesson  was  important  and  exciting  and   I enjoyed  this  class.

Today  is  12  September  2013. I  had  a  critical  reading  with  Dr. Usa  Noytim.  At  first,  I continued learning advertisement in  worksheet. I  learned  about  theme  of  advertisements  and  found  theme  in  advertisements. It’s  difficult  for  me  but  it’s  important. Teacher  asked  us  to  write  answer   about   theme  of  advertisements  in  exercise for  share  idea  with  my  friend. A  theme  of  advertisements  is different  from  a  feather . A  Theme  is  an  idea  and  should  be  stated  in  a  sentence. A  feather  can  be  stated  in  one  or  two  words. Finally, she  gave  us  sheets  about   reading   editorials. I  think  this  lesson  was  important  and  interesting . I enjoyed  this  class.

Today  is  5  September  2013. I  had  a  critical  reading  with  Dr. Usa  Noytim. At  first,  I  learned  how  to  reading  movie  review. Then  teachers  gave  us  sheet  about  movie  review  and  I  learned  positive words  and  negative words. Teachers  gave  us  worksheet  about   movie  review   of  The  First  Grader  by  2  reviewer  and  I  read  two  movie  reviews  and  compare  between two  reviews  how  is  different  about  the  reviewer  opinion. I  found  the  storyline, does  the  reviewer  like  or  dislike  the  movie?  and  positive  and  negative  words  in  this  movie  review. At last I  learned  about  reading  advertisements. I  think  this  lesson  was  important . I  enjoyed  this  class.

Today  is  29  August  2013. I  had  a  critical  reading  with  Dr. Usa  Noytim. At  first,  I  learned  how  to  reading  book  review. Then  teachers  gave  us  worksheet  about  book  review  of  CHRISTINE  Teaching Reading  Skills  in  a  Foreign  Language. This  book  review  have  the  examples  of  positive  and  negative  comment. I  found  positive  and  negative  comment  in  this  book  review. Teachers  gave  us  worksheet  about  the  meaning  of  the  fiction  and  non-fiction.  I  did  exercise  about  the  reviewer  like  the  book  or  the  reviewer  doesn't  like  the  book  in  this  worksheet. I  think  this  lesson  was  important  but  quite  difficult  for  me. I enjoyed  this  class.

Today  is  22  August  2013. I  had  a  critical  reading  with  Dr. Usa  Noytim. At  first, I  had  critical  reading ‘ s  test. It  was  difficult  for  me.Then  I  learned  about  review  of  The  First  Grader  movie. It  made  me  understand  more. Next  I  learned  about  the  skills  of  author’s  purpose, the  author’s  tone, the  author’s  intended  audience  and  the  author’s  point  of  view.  I  practiced  to find  the  author  purpose, tone, intended  audience  and  point  of  view  from  the  passage. Finally  I  got  worksheet  and  answered  the  questions  in  this  sheet. I  think  this  lesson  was  important  and  interesting  for  me  very  much. I enjoyed  this  class.

Today  is  15  August  2013. I  had  a  critical  reading  with  Dr. Usa  Noytim. At  first, she asked  us to think  about  words  of  The  First  Grader  movie  and  make  mind  mapping  on  the whiteboard. It  made me understand more  about  the story in the movie. I  discussed  and  shared  idea  with  partner  about  the  story  in  the  movie. And  She  asked  us  to  read  the  texts  about  the  first  grader movie. I  did  exercise  about  the  text  of  the  first  grader. I  think  about  the  reasons  for  Maruge’s  actions  with  partner. I  found  main  idea  of  paragraph  in  sheet. Finally  I  discussed  about  the  immigration  in  each  country  and  presented  with  friend  in  my  classroom. This  lesson  was  important  for  me. I  am  happy  this  class.

Today  is  25  July  2013. I  had  a critical  reading  class  with  Dr. Usa  Noytim. At first, she asked  us to think  and  discuss  with  friends  about  what  important  things  do  people  learn  in  school, what  important  things  do  they  learn  outside  of  school  and  what  were  the  three  most  useful  things  you  learned  in  school. I  did  exercises  in  worksheet. I  made  list  some  reasons  to  go  to  primary  school  and  share  my  ideas  with  my  friend. Teachers  opened  the  movie  for  me.This  movie  called  The  first  Grader  about  no one is too old to learn. This  lesson  was  important  and  interesting. I  am  happy  this  class.

Today  is  18  July  2013. I  join  in  the  seminar “The  5th  NPRU  National  academic  Conference  Research  for  Sustaniably  Regional  Development  toward  ASEAN  Community” . First  lecturer  Prof.Dr.rer.nat. Manfred  Koch. He  discussed  about  risks  of  future  earthquake  and  extreme. Second  lecturer  Surayut Chulanon. He  discussed  about  king's  multifarious  duties. Other  lecturer  talk about  ASEAN open problems  and talk about the other countries that will join in  ASEAN. Also interesting is preparing to open ASEAN. This  lesson  very  important.

Today   is  11  July  2013. I  had  a critical  reading  class  with  Dr. Usa  Noytim. I  learned  about  The  Age  of  Immigration. Teacher  asked  us  to  answer  the  questions  from  paragraph  in  this  sheet.  I  read  about  The  Age  of  Immigration  and  found  main  idea  by  steps. I  found  words  in  the  article  that  are  similar  in  the  meaning. I  complete  the  sentences  with  words  from  the  list  and  review  the  words  in  the  Key  vocabulary  from  the  Readings. Teacher  gave  us  homework  about  Immigration  in  other  countries. This  lesson  is  very  important  and  challenge. I  enjoyed  this  class.

Today   is  4  July  2013. I  had  a critical  reading  class  with  Dr. Usa  Noytim. I  learned  about  identifying  the  main  idea. She  gave  sheet  about  main  idea. The  main  idea  is  the  most  important  idea  that  a  writer  expresses  in  a  paragraph. I used  Early  Hypothesis  Formation  strategy and  Testing  to  identify  main  ideas  in  paragraph. This  lesson  very  difficult  for  me  but  I  will  try. I  had  quiz  about  fact  and  opinion. This  lesson  is  very  important  and  challenge. I  enjoyed  this  class.

Today   is  27  June  2013. I  had  a critical  reading  class  with  Dr. Usa  Noytim. She  gave  sheet  about fact and opinion. She  asked  us  about  the  difference   between  fact  and  opinion. She  gave us  made  groups  and  wrote  five  sentences  about  facts  and  wrote  five  sentences about  opinions. We  shared  idea  together. My  group  do  exercise  about  the  fact  and  the  opinion. I  read  passages  and  answer  the  questions. Today  we  didn't  have  quiz  because  time  isn’t  enough. I  think  this  is  lesson  was  easier  than  any  lessons  for  me. This  lesson  is  very  important. I  enjoyed  this  class.

Today  is 20 June 2013. I  had  a critical  reading  class  with  Dr. Usa  Noytim. Teacher  gave  the sheet  about  the  popularity  Sushi  in  the  United  States. She  told  difficult  words  in  the  passage  and  I  find  definitions  in  English of  words.  I  and  my  friend  shared  definitions  on  the  white  board. I  made  exercise  in  the  passage  and  shared  answers  with  friend  in  group. The  last  I  quiz  about  story  in  the  passage. I  think  this  is  lesson  was  difficult  for  me  but  important . I  enjoyed  this  class.

Today  is 13 June 2013. I  had  a critical  reading  class  with  Dr. Usa  Noytim. I  learn  introduction  to  critical  reading. I  analyze  Mona  Lisa  picture  and  share  idea  with  friend. I know  the  most  characteristic  features  of  critical  reading , Goals  of  critical  reading  and  Approach  of  critical  reading. I  quiz  about  mean  of  critical  reading  and  approach  of  critical  reading. I  think  this  is  lesson  was  important  and  interesting. I  am  happy  this  class.

I  share  ideas  with  the  group  to  find meaning  about  critical  reading  and  what  is  difficulties/problem  from  critical reading. She  gave  self  evaluation  about  critical  thinking: Knowledge, skills  and attitudes. I  think  this  is  lesson  was  important, exciting  and  challenging. I  enjoyed this  class.
